About Me

Hi! My name is Teresa and I'm so happy you've found this blog!  I've been crocheting for years on and off and recently have taken it up again.  I love to crochet and I love to make items for my family, my friends and for myself.  It's such a wonderful craft and I'm sure you will love it too!

I decided that I wanted to help people learn to crochet and I started this by inspiring my very own daughter to crochet.  She now loves it and is on her way to making things she loves.  She finds it very relaxing and calming and a great outlet to express her creativity.

Just a little history about crochet.  The word crochet comes from the French word "croche" meaing hook.

Fit for a queen.

Having been invented as a method for producing a cheap substitute for traditional lace, crochet struggled to shake off its reputation as an inferior craft. However, that changed when Queen Victoria gave it the royal seal of approval by buying crocheted lace made by Irish women who were struggling to make a living after the potato famine – Queen Vic herself even learned to crochet, making eight crocheted scarves for veterans of the South African War - and by the end of her reign, much of England was hooked.
